Mr. Arnone brings a decade of criminal law experience to the table after a successful career in one of the country’s most prestigious prosecutor’s offices. Mr. Arnone served as an Assistant District Attorney in the New York County District Attorney’s Office for ten years, first under the Hon. Robert M. Morgenthau and then under the Hon. Cyrus R. Vance, Jr. Beginning in 2001, Mr. Arnone was assigned to the trial division where he handled over eleven-hundred criminal cases involving charges for misdemeanors (petit larceny, marijuana and drug possession, DWI offenses, forgery) as well as serious felonies (drug sale, felony drug possession, firearms possession, attempted murder and murder). Mr. Arnone was also a member of the office’s domestic violence unit and was eventually entrusted to work cases with the NYPD’s esteemed Major Case Squad, where he investigated bank robberies and active situation ransom-demand kidnappings. He regularly supervised the office’s early case assessment bureau -- making crucial charging decisions at the early stages of criminal prosecutions -- and participated in legal training and trial advocacy programs geared to help the office’s younger prosecutors hone their courtroom skills.
In 2008, Mr. Arnone was recruited to join the office’s elite “Homicide Investigations Unit,” (later renamed the “Violent Criminal Enterprises Unit”) where he conducted long-term investigations into contract killings, firearms trafficking, homicides committed by large scale criminal organizations and violent drug gangs. He also tried conspiracy and murder cases involving the use of cooperating witnesses and gathered experience managing more complicated long-term prosecutions. He routinely employed more advanced methods of proactive law enforcement, executing dozens of search warrants and taking down some of Manhattan’s most violent drug crews.
In 2011, Mr. Arnone entered private practice with his former colleagues from the Manhattan District Attorney's Office. Mr. Arnone is an active member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society and received his law degree from Brooklyn Law School and his B.A. from New York University. He graduated magna cum laude and is a “University Honor’s Scholar”. He also received NYU’s prestigious “Founder’s Day Award” for attaining the highest bracket of scholastic achievement in his class. In his spare time, he enjoys weight training, playing football, and studying physics.
